LITTLE BIRD®, the central registration system for childcare services

The town of Oberursel (Taunus) has increased its efforts in favour of a family-friendly and simplified administration system. For this reason, we introduced a new software from LITTLE BIRD GmbH in August 2013 for the administration and registration process of childcare services.

The LITTLE BIRD® system in question consists of two entirely independent building blocks. On the one hand, there is an online search portal, and a specialised piece of administration software on the other. In the online search portal, parents can get an overview of all the childcare establishments in Oberursel at any time and specifically search for a suitable place. The establishments and day care centres provide their own online profiles, with contact details, information on their different services, and an outline of their educational philosophy.

Once parents have sufficiently informed themselves and decided for one establishment or the other, they can then simply apply online for a place of their choice.

This search procedure can even be saved and edited later as a “search profile”. By creating an online profile for themselves, the parents agree to the corresponding data protection terms. However, no data are transferred to the online portal without the express content of the user in each instance and no long-term data storage takes place.

A personal introduction and pre-enrolment meeting at the chosen establishment or at the town council is still possible and is certainly recommended, making the portal merely an additional option.

Any data captured within the agreed terms and conditions remains in the possession of the town of Oberursel (Taunus) as well as those institutions concerned and are used exclusively in the administration of the corresponding childcare registrations. This information is not passed on to third parties without the explicit consent of those concerned!

This capturing of data is protected by the “contract data processing” agreement recommended by the data protection office in the federal state of Hessen.

We are already looking forward to being able to offer you an improved service and an informative and particularly interactive online portal in order to help you find a spot at a day care in the near future.
