Initial psychological counseling for crises around the birth
100,000 mothers and at least 8% of all fathers in Germany suffer from depression (known as peripartum or postpartum depression, PPD) during pregnancy or after the birth of a child each year.
Are you often sad and depressed? Has the expected feeling of happiness failed to materialise? Do you hardly recognise yourself, are you plagued by insecurities and fears, or are you frightened by your own thoughts? Perhaps you are still struggling with the effects of the birth, which was very different from what you had hoped for? Do you feel exhausted and overwhelmed as a mother or father? Everything is completely different from what you imagined or wanted.
There is support and help available for you, your child and your family.
